As a software supplier for IT solutions in the logistics sector, we are looking to strengthen our great team within an informal company.
What are you going to do?
You are part of our small team of software engineers and contribute to the development of our (new) software, mainly in the backend and possibly in smaller parts in the frontend. The most important thing of all is that you work on the part that you are good at and that you feel good about.
What do we expect from you?
HBO/WO education or good substantiation of your qualities. • Knowledge of Linux, Python and Django? • Enthusiastic, knowledge, input, own opinion and a preference for open source
Organization
You will work at an informal company that has been active in the transport and logistics sector for almost 20 years. We have a preference for OpenSource. The customers are mainly located in the Netherlands and Belgium, from small family businesses to large multinationals. You will work with enthusiastic colleagues who have a passion for ICT and are open to your input, knowledge and experience!
Besides the fact that we find hard work important, we also find humor and a good working atmosphere very important. We are a healthy company with an interesting vision of the future with a no-nonsense mentality.
Function
To replace our current (somewhat legacy) software, you will work on the back-end and possibly also the front-end of our new software solution. Our in-house developed warehouse management system takes care of the complete inbound, outbound and storage of various items. Order picking via wireless terminals (android), but also our transport management system with order entry, planning, real-time track and trace (GPS) are included in this package. You are involved in the entire development process of this package, with your focus on developing the back-end. You work accurately, are knowledgeable and can also achieve this with appropriate speed. You do not choose the easiest solution, but the solution that ultimately saves work. Your input and share in the development of this package will take the final product to a higher level thanks to you! You can work well together within the team, where knowledge transfer and clear/unambiguous code are a priority.
Job Requirements
As a software engineer we expect the following from you:
You have experience and thorough knowledge of Python, Django and Linux. (We use Ubuntu the most). You are also no stranger to PostgreSQL, especially in combination with Django. Setting up an entire operational environment should therefore not be a problem for you.
You are enthusiastic, have knowledge, but also dare to express your own opinion.
