What Is a QR Code?

A QR code is a square barcode that can be scanned with a scanner or smartphone. In logistics, we use QR codes on things like:

  • Boxes or pallets
  • Order documentation
  • Incoming goods
  • Delivery notes

What Can You Do With It?

A QR code can hold more data than a regular barcode. For example:

  • Product information
  • Link to an instruction video
  • Batch code + expiration date
  • Shipping status

QR vs. Barcode

  • Standard barcode = single line of info
  • QR code = multiple data points at once (including text, URLs)
